The Governor of the Bank of England (2003 – )

Succeeding Sir Edward George who resigned after 2 terms, He served his first 5-year term as the governor of the Bank of England and Monetary Policy Committee from 2003 to 2008, and continues to do so in his second term due to end 2013. Mervyn King is a Harvard educated economist.  He has been known to be hawkish in his votes on monetary policies.
