A technical indicator that indicates the strength of the current trend.

Overview

Introduced in the June 2002 issue of Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodities magazine and Developed by M.H. Pee, the trend intensity index (TII) is used to indicate the strength of a current trend in the market.

The TII looks at the deviations of previous prices from a current moving average to identify the current strength of a trend.

The stronger the current trend, the more likely the market will continue moving in its current direction.
